Behind the scenes

The High School Rodeo Finals were held near Elm City, NC Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19. The 2-day event showcased the skills of NC high school students from across the state. Cierra Welborn of Elm City, NC earned the title of Rookie Cowgirl of the Year. Also, earning his second state championship in calf roping and second All Around Cowboy was Beddingfield High School rising senior Dillon Wooten.
